Eco-Paths

The Arava Institute's Eco-Paths Department works to create a more sustainable Israel through educational and environmental outdoor experiences. Eco-Paths organizes journeys where participants challenge themselves and advance the principles of peace and environmental activism.

The Eco-Paths team works to create a more sustainable Israel through educational and environmental outdoor experiences. Eco-Paths is based on three central themes: journey, challenge, and hope. Eco-Paths supports the Arava Institute through its own fundraising events as well as being sub-contracted by other non-profit organizations to organize outdoor events.

Since 2003, Eco-Paths in coordination with Hazon has organized ten Israel Rides to raise money for The Arava Institute and Hazon. In the spring of 2008, Eco-Paths sub-contracted with the Heschel Center to coordinate the Heschel Hike, a hike that explored the natural beauty and diversity of Israel while promoting a sustainable future for Israel. In October 2009, Eco-Paths organized the Arava Challenge, a one-day off road bike ride from the Arad area to the Dead Sea. In the November 2009, Eco-Paths along with the Heschel center organized the first "Food for Thought" conference in Tel Aviv. It was highly successful with over 500 participants from all over Israel. In 2010, Eco-Paths organized two Eco-tours, utilizing AIES alumni from Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority as hosts and tour guides. The Arava Institute's Eco-Paths Department works to create a more sustainable Israel through educational and environmental outdoor experiences. Eco-Paths organizes journeys where participants challenge themselves physically and advance the principles of peace and environmental activism. Eco-Paths organizes and creates fundraising events for the Arava Institute, as well as being sub-contracted to create 'green' events for other NGO's. Since 2002, Eco-Paths has been an initiator, partner and supporter of a wide range of outdoor activities such as bike excursions, nature hikes, swimming events and conferences.
