Description
This course will provide the students with a well-rounded overview of the natural history of the Arava Valley. The topics will include a study of the geography, geology, climate, landscape evolution, water, and soils of this Extreme Desert. The course will examine the Arava Valley's plants and animals, as well as explore how the natural history and environment of this region affected the region's past and present human activity. An in depth exploration of the Timna Valley and the Yotvata Salt Flat will be included in the course. There will be at least two one-day field trips.Required Reading:
