The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation has generously provided scholarship funding for an Israeli environmental activist and a Palestinian environmental activist to attend the Arava Program over the 2007-8 academic year. During this time, they will acquire the leadership skills necessary to work cooperatively on environmental concerns shared by all populations in the region. The Arava Institute is honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Foundation, which is committed to environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources.

Southern Arava Sustainable Waste Management Plan (SASWMP) is a regional plan designed to improve management of agricultural waste in the Southern Arava. SASWMP is behind the recently completed 'Constructed Wetlands' project at Ne'ot Smadar, which reclaims wastewater through a series of biological filters. SASWMP is funded by EU LIFE.
