The Arava Institute enjoys a partnership with Jewish National Fund (JNF), caretakers of the land of Israel since 1901. Over the past century, JNF has purchased the land; greened it with more than 240 million trees; built over 180 reservoirs and water recycling centers that provide water to 1.5 million Israelis every day; developed over 250,000 acres of land; created more than 1,000 parks; provided the infrastructure for 1,000 communities; and educated students around the world about Israel and the environment. Today, JNF is restoring northern Israel, making it home again to its residents, and is putting its century of experience to work in developing the Negev Desert, Israel's last frontier.
As an environmental organization, JNF's partnership with the Arava Institute has helped promote their shared mission of protecting the land and ensuring sustainable development. It is possible to donate money to JNF and designate the funds to the Arava Institute. Checks should be made out to the Jewish National Fund with a note attached designating the funds to the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies.
